2011 Travel Adventures (Pt 1)

In the past few weeks one of the things I’ve been keeping busy with is pulling information together for a year of traveling. Since we purchased our Disney Vacation Club ownership in 2008 it seems like I’m always going someplace or have just gotten back. The purchase is doing just what I wanted it to do in getting us to actually take vacations. This year however I’ll be jet setting off to Neverland no less than three times! Yes, I know that for many Disney social media folks this is nothing, a mere drop in the bucket. For me however, that’s a lot of travel, more than I’ve done in a single year for 20 years.  I'll be taking three very different trips, joined by different people, and having a blast all year long.   Walt Disney World and I have a special landmark in common this year as we both celebrate our 40th year!

March 17th - 20th
It’s the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration!

I’m so jazzed about this first trip down to Disney this year. I was incredibly lucky and feel honored to be a participant in this years Social media Mom's event. This will be my first blog conference, and what better place to attend than at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. This is a full weekend of bloggy goodness and networking with Social Media Moms from all over the world.  We'll be staying three magnificent nights at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.  I’m thrilled to get the chance to not only meet new people and hear a fabulous list of speakers, but to reconnect with some of the fabulous people that I got to meet last year during our #EpicOctober Trip. The Disney Bloggers are so amazing, it’s really been a joy to be a part of the community.

But wait!  That's not all... my best friend, fellow Disney lover, and bride-to-be, Bekah, will be joining me for this crazy, busy, whirlwind weekend full of Disney Magic. We’ll be spending part of this fun filled weekend exploring the Disney Weddings Showcase, including and exclusive luncheon with my party planning guru David Tutera! I screamed like a crazy fan girl when I found out that we would be attending. She’s only seen a couple of his shows, but bought the tickets for this once in a life time treat.

My conference is booked, my flight is confirmed, just minor details left for this wonderful girls weekend!

  1. I can't believe that we're finally going to Disney together after a decade of being friends. Oh my gosh, I am just so excited! Have you found a car service for the airport yet?

  2. I found one, but I haven't made a reservation yet. Fionn will pick me up when I come home, it's going to be about $150 to get a car on Thursday morning though.

  3. Have you considered getting a hotel for the night near the airport? Most of them have shuttles that will run you to the airport in the morning. Heck, take the train down on Wednesday afternoon, I'll come pick you up, we'll have dinner and I'll drop you off at the hotel. I'd have to check but I'm pretty sure it's not going to run you 150 bucks to get a room for the night! I'd be thrilled to have you stay here but I know the cat issue makes that a no go.
