Grand Floridian Spa & Health Club

In the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration I took a moment to escape. In all honesty, I was looking for a quick fix to a chipped nail and wanted to pop in to get it repaired before running off to the next experience. I stopped into the Ivy Trellis Hair Salon at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa to ask if they had a manicurist. The lovely girl there told me that the spa was where I needed to be. She picked up the phone and called over to ask if I could get an appointment. Luckily if I arrived quickly they could fit me in for a manicure. So, off I went down the beautiful garden path towards the Grand Floridian Spa and Health Club.  Upon my arrival and check in, the staff member, took me in back to the luxurious locker room and suddenly I had to slow down.

I tucked my belongings into one of the lockers provided at the spa and looked around this elegant location.  As a Grand Floridian Guest the facility was available for use during my stay.  The softly lit area was decorated in rich creamy colors.  I took a seat on the comfortable couches, everything about the atmosphere here said slow down... breathe... relax.  After a few minutes of pure "me time" my manicurist came to get me.  I was taken to a comfortable chair, and treated to a full manicure.  It was obvious that "quick" was not a word that had much meaning at the Spa.  They were much more versed in words like, relax, indulge, and luxuriate.  My manicurist chatted with me about family as she fixed my nails and massaged my hands.  While in the spa I was pampered and well taken care of.  This is truly a gem of the resort that I doubt many people take advantage of.  This little retreat is a truly magical place, that forced me to slow down and relax in the middle of a hectic weekend.  Next time you're looking for a few minutes of pure devotion to yourself at Walt Disney World, give the Spa and Health Club at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa a try.

  1. That place looks amazing! I'm glad you grabbed some pictures of it. Next time we stay on Property, we will have to make a pit stop for my wife to grab some quality time resting and relaxing! Great post as always!

  2. That sounds so great!! I have to ask - was it "reasonably" priced and how long did the manicure actually take?

  3. Lynn, it was more expensive than if I had the same service done at home. The polish change/chip repair cost me $35 and took about 40 minutes all told. But it was totally worth it, I just tried not t think about the cost.
