Heat of the Sun

Chandelier at Palo

It's been so hot outside the past few days, I felt this close up embodied the intense temps we've been dealing with. This was a beautiful blown "glass" chandelier in Palo on board the Disney Dream. It may be from the Chihuly workshop, but I'm not sure.  When the Disney Cruise Line first launched they partnered with the artist Dale Chihuly, who created a new medium that would be sea worthy yet still have that spectacular glass shine for the lobby chandeliers onboard the Magic and Wonder.  Chihuly often creates works that show elements of nature and this one shines with the heat of the sun.

  3. Gorgeous photo! Love, love, love Chihuly's work. I need to dig out my photos of art we captured in Vegas that I fell in love with. Stay cool - it has been brutal here as well.
