Three Frosty Treats

Today I want to talk about a couple of my family's favorite Disney Snacks.  The choice of what to snack on is a highly personal choice, with fans of everything from fresh fruit to giant smoked Turkey legs, but today as the thermometer rises up past 100 again in many parts of the country I'm focused on something a little cooler.

100_2456Disney Snacks come in all shapes, sizes and flavors.  My daughter Katie can't live without her Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars.  Yes, Mickey Bars are like currency in our house, we've even been known to keep a "contract" detailing when and where Miss Katie can count on indulging in her favorite treat while on vacation.  Sibling rivalry be damned when there's vanilla ice cream coated in a yummy smooth Nestle' chocolate on the line.  This treat has even inspired souvenirs dedicated to it's melty goodness.  Pins, tote bags, vinlymations, even mouse ears and antenna balls can be found around the WDW property in the shape of the this special treat.   Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars can be found all over Disney Property at ice cream carts and kiosks, you can even use a DDP Snack credit to snag one for yourself.

100_2489My son Kirk, on the other hand, goes for a special treat that has evolved an almost cult like following and flavor controversy on it's own, the Dole Whip.  He's seen here about to enjoy the cool silky pineapple soft serve floating in fresh pineapple juice.  This treat comes from Aloha Isle in Adventureland and can be ordered several ways for your gustatory fascination.  It's also been spotted at Captain Cook's at Disney's Polynesian Resort where you can get your "Whip fix" 24 hours a day.  Kirk has recently been sporting a great Tiki Whip T-Shirt dedicated to this creamy goodness even the tiki gods seem to revere.  It's just not a day in the Magic Kingdom without a Dole Whip.

IMG_0450Now we come to Mom's favorite, an indulgent little glass of frozen goodness that can only be at the lakeside drink stand found in Epcot's France.  Boys and girls, you have to be 21 to enjoy this Disney sensation, and be warned, you don't want to come between Mom and her Grey Goose Citron Slush.  The smoothest, most delicious frozen lemonade you'll ever try, be careful not to drink the down too quickly.  Grey Goose really is the best tasting Vodka out there, and it shines in this icy cocktail. The Citron slush is a bit on the pricey side, and you can't use a snack credit, but don't stroll through Paris without giving it a try.
