Trick-or-MeetUp with the Disney Parks Blog

Disney parks Blog Trick or Meet-UpThe tickets went fast once they were released, but 150 lucky Disney fans snagged a chance for them and a guest to attend a spooky after hours tour of the Haunted Mansion with the Disney Parks Blog team.  I sent in my RSVP as soon as I heard and just over an hour later got a confirmation!!  Geordon and I are so excited to be able to share this spooktacular opportunity of a lifetime.

Disney has us meet up at Blizzard Beach, where the party had already started.  As people registered and mingled their way through the crowd a DJ played and party goers danced.  I introduced Geordon to many of my friends from online before we climbed aboard tour buses and were taken to the Magic Kingdom. I was excited to see other Disney fan community regulars at the even such as Jackie Gailey from Jackies Magical Moments, Ashley from A Cup of Disney and her husband Robin of WDW Dads, Suzannah of Zannaland and JL from the Disney Driven Life, Kaylene from the WDW Moms Panel as well as many many more.

Once backstage they dropped us off in Frontierland and we strolled through the empty park to Liberty Square. I had brought a small tripod and attempted to take some night time pictures of the park.I'm beginning to discover that night shots are just as much about editing as anything else.  After playing with this photo I took of Splash Mountain in Picnik, I'm tickled how it turned out.

During the Meet-up we were treated to a special tour of the new Haunted Mansion attraction queue hosted by Walt Disney Imagineers. More surprises were in store for us on the Haunted Mansion attraction itself, and the very fashionable and haunted Miss Carlotta (played by one of my favorite Disney Character Actresses) entertained us with stories of her demise, while we explored the enhanced queue. We noshed on Mickey rice krispie treats, and other sweets that were provided, as well as did a little trick-or-treating. My favorite part of the night was listening to guest speaker Writer and Imagineer Jason Surrell, who kept us rolling with laughter. That's one man who knows how to work a crowd and we we delighted!

Haunted Mansion

Overall it was a very successful event, everywhere I looked guests were having a wonderful time, chatting with new friends, listening to the Ghostly Dans, or making way for the Headless Horseman. Disney Parks Blog pulled out all of the stops to entertain their guests and create a memorable meet-up. I'm so thrilled that I had the opportunity to join the jamboree and experience this spooktacular night.
