We're always planning the next pilgrimage to the Happiest Place on Earth or one of the many other great Disney Vacation Club destinations using our DVC points, and when we are there you can catch our view as we create live events so that our website readers can share in the fun.
Our first Home Resort is the magnificent Animal Kingdom Villas in Walt Disney World, Florida. The best birthday present I’ve ever gotten by the way. This luxurious retreat is a vacation within it’s self with rooms that overlook African wildlife grazing on the Resort's private savanna. Top notch eateries take you on a journey through the flavors of Africa, state of the art fitness centers, luxurious spa, refreshing pools and an escape from the every day. In 2010 we added on more points at Disneyland Resort's spectacular Villas at Grand Californian Resort & Spa. With our DVC membership we always get the joy of planning our next adventures with the knowledge that out hotel room is secure.

Looking for more information on Disney Vacation Club (DVC)?
The simplest answer to the question "What is Disney Vacation Club?" is that DVC is Disney's version of a timeshare. Members are people who have bought an ownership interest at any of ten (soon to be eleven) vacation club resorts. Membership interests are purchased as DVC points, and each family may choose how many points they want to purchase. Rather than being locked into one style of room and one week a year at a traditional timeshare, points allow one to book a variety of room styles at time of year. The point “cost” of a room night fluctuates throughout the year according to what season Disney is in and what style of room you desire.
The Disney Vacation Club claims that by becoming a DVC member a family can save up to 75% on the cost of their rooms over the length of their contract. Savings will vary by each families travel habits. Savings, however, isn’t the only benefit to membership and should only be one thing that you take into consideration when deciding if you should become a DVC member. For our family the pre-planning capabilities, pre-paid hotel, amenities, flexibility, and emotional connection were what made this choice right for us.
Now that you have a general idea, you should do your research and figure out if it would work for your family. There are several great websites out there that offer details and community surrounding the Disney Vacation Club which I highly recommend.
The Disney Vacation Club - This is Disney’s official website for non-member information about the Disney Vacation Club. It’s a varitable wonderland of all the great things that membership offers. A fabulous place to start your journey, but remember, it is a sales site.
DVCNews.com - A fan driven site, DVCNews.com offers the latest news and views of what’s going on in the Vacation Club universe. You can stay up to date with them on Twitter (DVCNews) as well.
MouseOwners.com - Another fan driven site, these owners are down to business. I love this site for it’s no nonsense contributions to the community. Many folks on this site are numbers people and can break down every detail of the financial aspects of a DVC purchase. They take a look at the good and bad so that you can figure out
If you're in the Chicagoland area I highly encourage you to visit the Doorway to Dreams Center at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL.
